Arch Low NOx Burner

For over half a century, we have been designing and manufacturing arch-fired (downfired) pulverized coal steam generators capable of burning low volatile fuels. Our arch-fired units total over 13,000 MW capacity, include the largest units up to 700 MW, and fire fuels with the lowest volatile content without support fuel. These units have the capability of burning fuels with a wide range of properties including petroleum coke, anthracite and low volatile bituminous coal.

We have recently developed a Low NOx arch-fired combustion system with overfire air (OFA) for new boilers and retrofit of existing boilers. Our patented design provides greater than 50% NOx reduction compared to the conventional arch-fired system, while maintaining stable combustion of very low volatile fuels without support oil or gas. Our new Low NOx arch-fired system is the first of its kind for the utility power industry and has been retrofitted on boilers up to 350 MW capacity in the U.S., Europe and Asia.
