The Oryx GTL plant in Qatar, engineered by Foster Wheeler, is a world 'first': the first of the new generation of commercial-scale plants to convert natural gas to liquid fuel using low-temperature Fischer Tropsch technology. The high quality GTL diesel produced has a sulphur content below 5ppm, cetane rating greater than 70 and low aromatics content of less than 1%, allowing higher performance and reductions in exhaust emissions. We also engineered the Escravos GTL plant in Nigeria.
Our expertise also includes gas-to-chemicals, gas-to-power and fully integrated solutions. We have worked on the study and FEED phase for ground-breaking planned decarbonized power facilities in Europe and the Middle East, generating power using hydrogen manufactured from natural gas, with associated CO2 injection for EOR.
